Abstract:
With a history of nearly one thousand years, Chinese ink-wash drawing plays a decisive role in the development of oriental art. So far the computer simulation of the artistic effects of Chinese ink-wash drawing has been partly achieved. However one typical artistic effect often appeared in Chinese ink-wash drawing named half-dry stroke, which is difficult to simulate by using conventional method because such stroke is without regular pattern and there is no rule to follow. In this paper a texture mapping based method is presented, which can effectively stimulate the half-dry stroke artistic effect.
