Precompiled Qt v5.6.1 (snapshot) and Qt v5.7.0 RC

I finally uploaded my builts of Qt v5.6.1 (snapshot) and Qt v5.7.0 Release Candidate, you can check them out at the Precompiled Qt4 and Qt5 page.

I was able to build Qt v5.7.0 RC with MSVC 2013 and 2015, older compilers seem to have issues. As for Qt v5.6.1 it was not possible to build with MSVC 2008. Since the compiler has been dropped upstream and I don’t use it either, the choice to drop it was easy.

I will most likely build another set of v5.6.x and v5.7.x once newer versions as out. Qt v5.7.x will most likely be release within June and maybe v5.6.x will also get to v5.6.2.

The builds are untested, so if you have issues leave me a comment, I can probably help.

Note also that I have moved older Qt builds to a separate Qt4 and Qt5 (Past Builds) page.

Qtwebengine can be statically compiled?

  not that I know of. technically speaking I see no reason it can’t be compiled statically, but I have to investigate. If you try to build it, the build system issues a warning and skips it, so the sources have to be patched.

    It is us that tell thank for so many your work of compilations. Compilation (especial static) is very important, but I detest to do it myself.
    
    Another two questions:
    1. Does the static compilation include the WebEngine? I heard that it is not easy to compile it in static mode.
    2. Does it possible add “mingw” version? I think it is still very useful. Because some codes come from linux and open source projects.

      Thanks, I’m glad people find all this work useful. To answer your questions:
      1. No static compilation of the WebEngine is not supported upstream. I do not know what it takes to do it, if even possible.
      2. I don’t have/use the mingw toolset. I can certainly add it at some point, but being completely honest preparing all these builds takes an enormous amount of spare, unpaid, time that I currently don’t have. sorry. I definitely do listen to what people like you say and I may be able to help in the future.

        Thank you for the link, I read what I could. My concern is that Webkit is removed from newer versions of Qt. Maybe we could try do a static build of WebEngine. I’ll see what I can do, but first we need to find out why it is not supported upstream.

Qt 5.7+ requires a C++11 compiler, that may be why you had problem with vs2010 I think. And thanks again, gonna try the 5.6.1 soon.
